Obituary: DAVID EARL MILLINOR

 

David Earl Millinor Jr., 63, of Charlotte, N.C. and Spartanburg, SC passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 1999 at home.

He was born December 10, 1935 in Wilmington, NC, son of the late David Earl Millinor and Myrtle Elizabeth Millinor.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy, and three sons, Blake Millinor and Ashley Millinor of Spartanburg, SC, and Chad Millinor of Charlotte, NC. He had one grandson, Nicholas Blake Millinor of Spartanburg and a step mother Daphne Millinor of Wilmington, NC. He graduated from New Hanover High School, Wilmington, NC and North Carolina State University, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He spent most of his career as a project manager for Hoechst Celanese in Spartanburg, SC. In 1996 after completing a project in China, where Kathy and he lived for three years, they moved to Charlotte, NC. He retired from Hoechst Celanese and became an engineering consultant for AQF. Mr. Millinor enjoyed spending time with family on camping and canoeing trips, traveling and was a car enthusiast. He was actively involved in his sons Boy Scout troop, Professional Engineers Association, and First Baptist Church of Spartanburg.

A memorial service will be held on Friday at 3:00 at First Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg, SC.
