Obituary: VEONIA SKIPPER PRIDGEN

Veonia Skipper Pridgen, of Wilmington, wife of Carl Evans Pridgen, died on Sunday, October 30, 2005, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center.

She was born on May 26, 1936, in Brunswick County the youngest daughter of the late Everette and Margaret Benton Skipper. She was preceded in death by five brothers, and one sister. Mrs. Pridgen was a faithful member of Northside Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Carl E. Pridgen; three children, Charles Evans Pridgen, Carla Pridgen and Keith Pridgen and wife Julie; two sisters, Inez Pope and husband Harry, and Agnes Mae Watson and husband Thomas; three grandchildren, Michael Pridgen, Will Pridgen and Laura Pridgen.

There will be a visitation for family and friends on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Andrews Mortuary, Market Street Chapel.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2005, at Andrews Mortuary, Market Street Chapel, by Rev. Kenny Chinn and Rev. Mickey Easterling. Interment will be in the Skipper Family Cemetery in Maco, NC.

Pallbearers will be Charles, Douglas and Michael Benton, Donald Irving, Eric Pridgen and Terry Pope. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff and David Autry, Charles Robbins, Frankie and Randy Pridgen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the L,ower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center or to Northside Baptist Church Building Fund.
