Obituary: THOMAS HUBERT SHANNON
Mr. Thomas Hubert Shannon, of 6424 Head Road, Wilmington, NC, died Thursday, March 31, 1994, in New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Wilmington, NC, on January 1, 1936, the son of the late John Edward and Margaret Ramsaur Shannon, and was preceded in death by his brother, George E. Shannon.
Mr. Shannon was a graduate of Duke University and received his Master's Degree from George Washington University. He retired from the United States Marine Corps as a Lieutenant Colonel after 22 years of service. Following his retirement, he served as Administrator for Lowrimore & Warwick until 1993. He was a member of St. Andrews-on-the-Sound Episcopal Church.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Head Shannon, of the home; their children, Frances Shannon Russell and husband, Robert, of Atlanta, GA, John Edward Shannon and wife, Lynne, of Durham, NC; and granddaughter, Emily Frances Russell, of Atlanta, GA.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 2, 1994, at 1 p.m. at St. Andrews on-the-Sound Episcopal
Church by The Rev. William B. Trimble Jr. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
