Obituary: THOMAS ROSS COOK, SR.

Thomas Ross Cook, Sr. of Wilmington,  died Saturday, August 16, 2003 at his residence.

He was born in Gastonia, NC, December 30, 1935, the son of the late Coy R. and Ruby Ross Cook. He was preceded in death by a brother, Coy R. Cook, Jr.

Mr. Cook served in the US Army, 82nd Airborne, and was stationed at Ft. Bragg. He had retired from Equifax after 35 years and was a lifetime member of the Elks, Lodge #532. He was a member of the American Legion Post 10 and life member of the Wilmington Bowling Association and was recently inducted into the Wilmington Bowling Association Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Faye Martin Cook, two sons; Thomas Ross Cook, Jr. and wife Sandy of Wilmington, and Mitchell Martin Cook and wife Megan of Stevensville, MD and two granddaughters, Morgan Taylor Cook and Amanda Mae Cook.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, August 19, 2003, at Andrews Market Street Chapel. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM at Andrews Market Street Chapel.
