Obituary: Ron Davis
Ronald William Davis, Col. (retired) U.S. Army, of Kempner, Texas, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009.
Born May 30 1936, in Wilmington, NC, he was a 1954 graduate of New Hanover High School where he was awarded the ROTCs Cape Fear Sword. A 1958 Distinguished Military Graduate of The Citadel, he was commissioned a 2/LT in the infantry. He received a Juris Doctorate degree from UNC School of Law in 1964 and became a member of the Judge Advocate General's Corps. He retired in 1988 after 30 years of active duty. Licensed to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, he was a member of the North Carolina Bar and the Texas Bar.
Survived by his wife of 51 years, Susan Parsons Davis; son Bradley W. Davis of NC; a daughter, Virginia G. Davis of Kempner, TX; sisters Kathryn Davis Harris of Albemarle, NC, and Frances Davis Hansen of St. Cloud, MN, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned for a future date.
