Obituary: ROBERT ERVIN MURPHY
Mr. Robert Ervin Murphy, age 57, of 436 Bownan Street, Lavonia, died June 23, 1995.
He was born in Atkinson, NC, son of the late Robert Campbell and Kathleen Ervin Murphy. He grew up in Wilmington, NC, and graduated from New Hanover High School and Yale University.
He wrote poetry and was an English Teacher. He was an Army Veteran and was of the Presbyterian Faith.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Tommye Sue Byrd Murphy of the home, One daughter, Anna K. Murphy of the home and one son, PauI Byrd Murphy of the home. One sister, Mrs. Bossie M. Lee of Greenville, S. C, and two nephews Stuart Murphy Lee and Daniel Lee of Greenville, S.C.
FuneraL services will be held Sunday at 2:30PM at Lavonia First Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Walters and Dr. Joe Renfro officiating. Burial wiLL be in Lavonia City Cemetery. Body will be at Weldon Funeral Home. The Family is at the residence, 436 Bowrnan Street, Lavonia and they will receive friends at the Furneral Home Saturday nlght from 7 to 9 o'clock.
