Michael R Hawkins was born June 8, 1934, the son of Edward Monroe and Miriam Hawkins in Wilmington, NC. He graduated from New Hanover High School in 1954.
He was preceded in death by both parents in 1974.
He was buried in Belin Memorial Cemetery in Murrells Inlet, Georgetown County, SC.
He was survived by his brother Edward Monroe Hawkins JR, who passed away in 1994.
