Obituary: JIMMY E PRIDGEN

Jimmy E. Pridgen of Carolina Beach, NC, died Saturday, October 5, 2002 in New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Lumberton, NC, on May 24, 1936, the son of Mrs. Etta Mae Stone Pridgen of Wilmington and the late Nathaniel W. Pridgen.

Mr. Pridgen was a life long member of Long Leaf Baptist Church and was retired from the United States Army after 26 years of service with the rank of Sergeant Major. He served in Manheim, Germany; Okinowka, Japan; and with the 82nd Air Borne in Vietnam with the 1st COSCOM and the 46th Support Group. He was the owner and operator of Pridgen Motors Inc. in Wilmington and was a Budget-Ryder Rental Dealer.

In addition to his Mother, he is survived by his Fiancee, Sharon Efird; a sister, Patricia Pridgen Lennon of Fairmont, NC; two brothers, Willie Crae Pridgen, Sr. and Ronald Leigh Pridgen, both of Wilmington; and two nephews, Wayland B. Lennon III and Allen Lennon.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 P.M. Monday in Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel by Rev. Eugene Ridley and Rev. Paul Christ. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
