Obituary: JAMES ROLAND SHAW JR.
James Roland Shaw Jr. of 418 long Leaf Acres Dr., Wilmington, N.C., died Friday, June 13, 1997, at his residence.
He was born March 1, 1936, and as the son of the late James R. and Ellen Shaw. He was a retired U.S. Postal Employee and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 until 1958.
Survivors include his wife Betty W. Shaw of the home; sons, William M. Boyd and wife Diane, and son, Chase; Lawrence Scott Shaw and James R. Shaw lll; sisters Julia S. Anderson of Wilmington and Bobbi S. Taylor of Morehead City; grandson Michael Scott Shaw of Wilmington; several nieces and nephews.
Private services for the immediate family will be held.
In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to American Cancer Society or Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
