Obituary: CHARLES DAVID CHECKNER

David Checkner, 46, of 4911 Pine Ridge Rd., Charlotte, NC, died Sunday November 28, 1982, at his home.
David was born May 2, 1936, in Wilmington, NC, the son of Soloman and Helen Goldstein Checkner. He attended and graduated from New Hanover High School in Wilmington in 1954.
David also attended the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and had been in the clothing business for 24 years. His church was Temple Israel Synagogue in Charlotte.
He is survived by is his wife Barbara Cherry Checkner; one son Jeffery Checkner and one daughter Amy all of the home; his mother Mrs. Helen Goldstein Checkner of Wilmington; one sister Mrs. Joyce Fassberg of Bethesda, MD; and one niece and several nephews.
The funeral will be 11:00AM Tuesday at the Harry & Bryant Chapel with Rabbi Richard K. Rocklin of Temple Israel officiating. There will be a Memorial Service at the home at 7:30PM Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening.
David was buried in the Hebrew Cementery in Charlotte, NC.
