Obituary: CAROLYN JOHNSTON POWELL
Carolyn Johnston Powell March 11, 1936 - April 1, 2018
Born in Wilmington, NC, and graduated from New Hanover High School with the class of 1954*
Carolyn, was fondly known as “Grandma” and “GG” by friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace C. and Sue Johnston, her husband, James A. Powell, her daughter, Tammy Powell and grandson, Michael Morgan (Kimberly).
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Karen LaRue (John), her brother, H. C. Johnston, Jr. (Wanda) and her grandchildren, Heather Croom (Niel), Kelly LaRue, Megan LaRue Reece (Will) “GG” is also survived by her great grandchildren, James Morgan, Kyra Morgan, Justice Croom, Amber Croom, Hunter Croom, Luna Reece and Edie Reece.
Carolyn was the former owner of C.J’s Personal Touch and Eastern Oil Transport. (PAC, JED)
