OBITUARY:Jackie Greene (Kraus)

Wilmington – Jackie Kraus passed away at home on Sunday, 30 October 2022. She was 85 years old. She was born in Carvers Creek, North Carolina on 18 November 1936. She moved at a young age to Carolina Beach and loved living there. She had an idyllic childhood by the ocean.

She was predeceased by her parents Jack and Naomi Greene and sister Doris Henry. She is survived by her Husband of 67 years Jim Kraus, Brother Charles Thomas Greene, Son Jay Kraus, Daughter Nancy Sutera (husband Tony) and Son Michael (wife Susan) all of Wilmington North Carolina. She is also survived by grandchildren Shane and Luke Sutera, and Brice and Allen Michael Kraus.

She is a 1954 graduate of New Hannover High School and also attended East Carolina University. After getting married Jim and Jackie moved to Norfolk, Virginia. There would be many more moves all around the country before retiring back To Wilmington in 1989.

Jackie volunteered at the Junior League, Dunn’s Rest home, and numerous Church Groups. In Wilmington Jim and Jackie attended St Andrews Covenant Presbyterian Church, and were Members of The Carolina Yacht Club, and The Cape Fear Country Club.

Jackie loved her family, shopping and gardening. She especially like growing Hybrid Tea Roses. She attended many football games at Chapel Hill and enjoyed traveling to many places around the world. Jackie had a very strong faith in God.

The funeral will be held and St Andrews Covenant Church on Thursday 3 November at 2:00 p.m.

The family would like to thank Jackie’s caregivers Olga, Allison, Shenek and the visiting angels Carletha and Cynthia. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to The Lower Cape Fear Hospice at 14060 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, North Carolina 28401
